WORKSHOPS
Honoring Our Ancestors Candle Collage Workshop
For Dia de los Muertos in 2019 we collaborated with artist Mincho Vega and May Day Space to hold a candle collage workshop centering ancestors and honoring the lives of those who have passed this year. It was a spiritual and necessary event considering all the beautiful people who have left us this year.
Radical Women Candle Collage Workshop at Brooklyn Museum
Cósmica was invited to be a part of Brooklyn Museum’s First Saturday to celebrate the Radical Women: 1960-1985 show. We did a workshop celebrating different radical women and had participants make candles in their image with a bunch of fun art materials. We created a zine to distribute for free to everyone who attended the workshop, which was over 600+ people!
RAPP Program Social Justice Collage Workshop
Working with teenagers from across the boroughs of NYC in the RAPP program (Relationship Abuse Prevention Program) we held a collage workshop centered around social justice and representation.
Self-Portrait Collage workshop with BRIC
We collaborated with BRIC Open Arts & Ideas self-portrait collage workshop centering participant’s portrait among symbols of justice and humanity. We had our photographer Itzel on hand to take the photo and then printed it on site for them to work into a collage. It was so much fun!
